Gravesham South London

This elegant Victorian property owned by a Belgian Couple
required an update to the kitchen and Dining room. It was not updated when they
bought 12 years ago and was now in a tired and rundown state. The brief was to
open up the ground floor rear section and after discussions it was agreed to
extend to the side to use the wasted external alley. Planning permission was
sought as the length of the side was 7m, just over permitted development.

We wanted to create a large open space which was a wow
factor walking through from the traditional hallways in to a steel beam exposed
modern contemporary kitchen. The walls were taken down between hallways and
dining room with existing fireplace removed and steels added, left exposed.

A minimalist approach was taken to begin with, to allow a
canvas for later wall art, but incorporating some existing antique furniture
brought over from Belgium. A stunning designed Kitchen with Neff and Miele
appliances set on a polished cement floor gave a very unique look to the space.
A downdraft extractor prevented the space from being blocked and allowed views
straight through to the garden with a contemporary see through Star Light
pendant. The colour scheme based around the steels with Meteorite kitchen and
granite worktops.
